Pump Out Transmission Overfill?
I checked the transfluid today with the engine hot & in Park & found it is showing 1 to 1 1/2 inch above the crosshatched area on the dipstick.
Should I pump out the excess through the filler tube?
Thanks,
Gyro

Welcome to FTE!
You need to, with the engine running and emergency brake applied, go through each gear and load all the hydraulic passages one at a time this is known as "Going through or loading the Detents"
After this procedure is performed the fluid should be at "normal level" if not you can extract excess from tube or if there is a drain plug you can use it.
Also...if you don't know if a filter / fluid change has been done now would be a great time to do it!

I don't think there is a drain bolt in the pan. I got a 99 cent siphon pump but as you can guess it didn't work.
I'll get a good pump tomorrow. Looks like I need to remove a little more than a pint.
The good news is that the fluid looks pretty good but I'll change it and the filter later this spring.
Thanks for the help.
