What model tranny cooler are some of you guys running and where is a good place to pick one up? Is there any application with a fan mounted on it?

Did you leave the factory cooler in and hook this to it or are you just running one.

it runs inline with the stock cooler. it is mounted just behind the grill so you dont have to take your ac cooler or anything else out.

How much cooler did yours run after the dieselsite cooler? I see temps of around 190-200 sometimes and it would be great to lower those.

I just installed a Flex-a-lite (FLX-45951, 10" fan w/thermostat) this weekend. I done away with the factory one and mounted this one right behind the grill. The install turned out pretty well, had to modify the back of the grill a little though in order for the grill to fit back on.

How much did that run you? Was there a big drop in temps?

I got it from Summit for $212.99. It's a very nice quality unit and it's the only one I've ever seen with a shrouded fan. Not sure what it did for temps yet since I just finished the install on Sunday and haven't hauled anything yet. One change I made to the installation was that I bypassed the built-in thermostat and wired it up directly to a switch via a relay in the cabin. The thermostat is adjustable with the lowest setting being 180 degrees. I wanted to be able to start cooling the fluid before it got that warm. I like keeping the temps around 160 that way when a load is put on the truck the temp is a lot easier to keep in control. A couple of weekends ago with my old set up I was returning home from a weekend roadtrip and was cruising consistently between 75 and 80 only towing a 5'X8' trailer with a 4wheeler on it and noticed that my trans temp had climbed to 210 degrees, not good. I immediately backed off and after about ten miles or so the temp had come back down to below 180. I'm pretty confident that this new cooler will prevent that. Partly due to the fact that this cooler is mounted right out front catching fresh cool air and the factory cooler is sandwiched between the AC condenser and the radiator where is stays hot all of the time. I'm curious myself as to how it will work.
