oil blending

A long time ago a trucking company I used to work for would take there used enging oil and "blend" it with the fuel in the tanks of there trucks. They ran it thru some filters and such.I know the EPA would probably not like the idea but I`d due it if it didn`t hurt the fuel system in my PSD.Any thoughts?

No way...stick with quality additives. HEUI injectors are expensive and need nice clean fuel with proper additives. www.lubecontrol.com has some good stuff too.
An occaisional dose of biodiesel cleans and lubes things real nice.

There was a huge thread on here a long time ago about this - but the general concencus was.... DON'T DO IT!!

Personally - There is no WAY I would even think about doing that in ANY truck - used motor oil has all kinds of crap in it - that's why you change it!

i agree with Cat Man 963 completely. the reason for changing oil is the get rid of the dirt and byproducts of combustion. with these high-tech injectors that cost ALOT, there would be no way i would put anything but #2, biodiesel, and fuel additive through them. not even WVO.

with today's stringent emissions, the EPA is forcing less and less particulates released to the air. so instead of going out the exhaust, they have to go somewhere- and that is the oil pan. changing the oil regularly replenishes the clean oil, removes the sulfuric acid produced during combustion, and quiets the injectors. turbochargers need clean oil, too.
