Unhappy DP reconnect help

yanked the old exhaust out, no problems. now i cant seem to get the new 4in. DP stabbed in the whole. ( hope that sounds familiar ) had great visions of hearing that new 5in. but hopefully tomorrow, ran out of light. as of now i do not have a helper. is there any way this could be done by one person?

hmm. it doesnt really "stab in the hole", but rather it just butts up to the hole. what i did to steady it while i climbed up top, was to use a bungee cord between the two framerails to steady the bottom of the pipe. good luck stabbin'

i installed mine myself. The connecting pipe held it in place for alignment with the turbo flange.

Use a box or a milk crate underneath to hold it up...that will keep it high enough to get the topside lined up.

Works for me anyways.

I heard of someone using tie downs in a couple of places and then cinching them up and lining up the downpipe when they were doing it alone. You could always offer the neighbor a beer and have him hold it in place!

do you take off the band clamp or leave it loose around the connecting pipe?

Leave it loose and let the hangers hold everything in place.
