I have a 360 that has a crack in the block under the intake on a water jacket. i was wondering if it could be welded. I have a buddy that thinks he can do it. I personaly dont think so becouse the crack is about a 1/4 inch from two lifters. Thanks for any replies. sonny

I had the same crack. I replaced my block rather than attempt the repair, but I was rebuilding the motor anyway.

Get a new block. Welding cast iron isn't easy, even if your pal can do it, you will find out it is good or bad AFTER you got it all back together. Just not worth the hassle.
