In the car biz, if you sell 30+ car a month you can show up in your boxers if you feel like it. God help you the first month you fall off track, though.
So the question to you is...Can you go to work in your boxers?
"Seriously, though- no, not on the sales end, although we don't do coats and ties either. Presentable slacks/openshirt/comfy shoes are the dress code around here."
That suffices for formal wear in Portland, doesn't it? Or do you need Birkenstoks?
I can wear what im like as im the boss . actualy its just me as its my own tree felling buisness and i work on my own . normaly its old jeans and sweat shirts , work boots . every thing gets realy dirty and ragged out anyway so i never wear good kit .then theres the safety equipment i use
At both jobs I wear jeans. At the HVAC company I get them from the uniform company. I could have gotten the dickies slacks type, but I like the durability of jeans since welding can be part of the job.
Polarbear: I always figures you for a top producer just based on your attitude and helpflness here on the boards.
And for the record the only time I want to see someone without their pants on while working is if I am at.....Well thank god my brain caught up with my fingers otherwise the rest of this post could have been disatorous...

I wear pretty much nothing BUT jeans. tree service work seems to be one of those jobs where the dress code simply states, if its looks halfway presentable and isnt a danger, wear it.
Shorts and boots everyday for me(never gets below about 5 degrees C) until I go underground then its overalls and gumboots. Haven't worn jeans for about 4 years, Im the wrong shape to be comfortable in jeans.
I wear jeans to work, sittin aroudn the house, to church... I live in em. I'm only part time now, but the full time guys have jeans as their uniform. They used to have Dickies, but they voted last year to switch
I wouldnt even let that bother me, if the cheeks start showing I darn sure wouldnt be the first person to point it out, I wouldnt point it out at all.
Since I work 3rd there aren't any women working. Actually I could care less if they have their cheeks hanging out, but the problem is that some of the holy rollers or other women get offended at the sight.
