Thumbs up 05E15 fix (maybe)

Just got back from my Ford dealer...I was complaining about the loss of power after the reflash/update. Service manager was telling me Ford recongnizes the problems with the update and will be sending a fix to the fix. Should be out by next Thursday.

Hope it fixes it so my boost goes back up from 22/23 to 27/28 before the update.

Anyone care to verify through their dealer?

Hi Spy,

I probably missed all your prior posts about your loss of boost,,,,sorry, but I've been very busy with work and had very little time to read through all the good data here.

Anyway, I finally got to drive my truck for a good long distance trip since I had the 05E15 reflash done. My truck is bone stock, and is an '04 with a 12/03 motor in a 12/03 truck build. It never had any real problems before the reflash, and had no other earlier reflashes done to it. The only thing I ever noticed was a slight stumble when backing. I drive it as a weekend toy, for off roading and occasional towing with a 2500 lb. quad trailer. I have only 3,600 miles on it now.

Anyway, not having any optional guages, I don't know how much boost I may have lost with the 05E15, but the overall driving impression I have is that it is still running very strong. It does feel as though the boost comes up a bit quicker, but not like it abates any sooner.

I am very interested in your updates on this matter....I like the way mine is running, and if it is a bit down in power from the original flash mode...I could probably live with that. At it's very worse, it's still 10 times stronger than my last Cummins TD. But I would l really like to hear/see what Ford is doing with this.... I hate it when any maker is not brutally honest with their customers about problems...and about what they are doing to solve them.

My dealer is good to deal with, but not very 'hip' on what's happening in the 6.0 world. I end up telling them more, usually from data learned here, than what they tell me about.

Good Luck, and take care,

Thanks,

JJ

yes it is to be released to canadian dealers/service tech this thursday..which is good, because my daily driver died on me again yesterday... !@#$%^&&*()() Ford is more than aware that a small??? percentage of s/d 6.0 owners are having issues with the latest flashes and eg/egr sensors..

Interesting. I have the 05E15 sitting here and have yet to do anything with it. Guess I'll just wait for what the long term results are.

I had the 05e15 recall done today and frankly it sucked all of the gusto out of my truck. Very sluggish off the line now and it wasn't before. Up to about 1500RPM, it's like it's tied to a tree and then it takes off about the same as before. I pulled out from a stop today on a hill and I didn't think it was going to make it up the hill. Going back to the dealer tomorrow. It's a 2005 F-250 CC Lariat 4x4 with the torqueshift.
