In the middle of installing the stock (yellow & blue) Bilstein shocks on my 2003 F250, noticed that they do not come with the internal metal sleeve within the lower rubber bushing?...is this by design, assume i will have to use my old metal sleeve out of the FX4 Rancos I am taking off?

Any help would be appreciated!
I had a friend who is a mechanic put mine on and remember that mine did not have and you just screw the bilt down until a slight compression of the bushing ocurrs. However, I can not remember 100%, so hopefully so others will jump in. When I go out later today, I will look and see if mine have the metal sleeve or not.
Beach....thanks for the reply...turned out was major head-space error on my part, remembered that i read here somewhere that they are mounted bass-ackwards (boot down) from what you would expect or how the Ranchos were set up...so the once i remembered this, they were all set...
On a side note I noticed that the way the Ranchos were mounted, piston downward, they actually rubbed and binded with the lower mount!, does look like Ford looked at the tolerances on those Moto-Craft-Rancho-stickered FX4s...
I even pulled mine apart, then found out they go upside down- had a hell of a time getting them back together again, only to find they rode like hell- too stiff, so I put the old ones back.
Okay so after the head-space error, the bilsteins went in easy, gav ethem a road test and very satisfied...handling was much improved...small frequency bumps were smoothed out, large jolts pretty much the same...beats the heck out of the fake Ranchos, and feel more confident handling in the curves...
Now to check my ball joints, havent figured out whether I want to attack those yet or not!
Putting Bilsteins on my 2005 F250 FX4 is an upcoming project for me as well. Per eshocks.com the Bilsteins for the 2005/2006 year F250 come available in April/May.
