E4OD 2nd to 3rd Shifting Troubles
I am having trouble getting my transmission to shift into 3rd as the truck is warming up. When the truck is cold or once it is warmed up it shifts fine, but if I run the truck for 10 miles or so and then turn the truck off for a short time (like getting fuel) it will only shift to 3rd if I bring the engine up to 3400 rpms.
The local Ford dealer says the tranny is shot. But a more experienced transmission mechanic in the area feels this is related to the temp sensors and more specifically, the wiring harness for the transmission. He thinks corrosion on the terminals may be to blame here.
The tranny runs great once warm. I hauled cattle last weekend 450 miles without a hickup (except for when I stopped for fuel at the beginning of the trip!). I'd sure appreciate any help you may be able to give me.
Thanks.
