2002 Explorer Door Locks
Hi, i am new to this site so have patience. My wife has a 2002 Explorer and the door ajar light as well as the dome light stay on. The dome light will go out after a few minutes however the door ajar light remains on. The switch on the drivers door also will not work any of the locks, they do not try to engage and the drivers power mirror will not work as well. I have tried th WD-40 several times with no avail. I have been able to move the wires between the door and the frame a couple times and got it to work on all counts but I cannot find where the wirtes connect to under the dash. I have checked inside the doors and they are all OK. Can anyone help me?

i have the problerm with the dome light and the door locks try turning your dimmer all the way off (the reostat dial) and then try locks i have had all the wiring unplugged and checked everything up to the door i think i have norrowed it down to the head light dimmer switch it costs 85 dollars there for i have not gotten one to prove my therory. let me know if the dimmer trick works for you as well thanks...

Found the problem, I had a ground wire broken between the door and the body. It had broken inside the insulation so was not visible, I used two straight pins as probes and checked the resistance and found it. All is well for now Thanks.
