Dash Lights

I have a 1979 F-250 and the dash lights have not worked for approximately 13 years. Several times I have tried to fix them but have failed. I'm not a wiring expert and about the only thing I know for sure is the bulbs are new. Where should I start? All of the gauges work and the only lights on the entire dash that work are the high beam indicator and turn signal lights.

PLEASE HELP!

check the fuse, and turn the dimmer on the headlight switch back and forth a few times.

Do you have a voltmeter or testlight? If the above doesn't work, we could do a little testing.

All fuses good. Turning the dimmer has no effect. I do not have a volt meter or light however if that's whats required to fix it, I'll buy one!

The voltage for the dashlights originates at the headlight switch. So if you get a testlight or voltmeter, we can probe the switch and see if we have any voltage there, rather than guessing it's the switch itself.
