Urethane without a doubt! It is easier to sand and buff out mistakes, easier to apply (especially in a base/clearcoat), harder to run the metalics, etc. I won't say all are, but all enamels I worked with were 1 stage. They spray pretty easy (no harder than urethane), but your mistakes (runs/bugs/dry spots) are much harder to hid or get rid of.

You can purchase since stage urethanes as well as 2/3 stage versions. The clearcoat makes it much easier to touch up if you have a "bender" and don't fade as bad as enamel.

i GENERALLY USE ENAMEL FOR FRAMES REALLY. I HAVENT USED A URETHANE YET, BUT I GENERALLY USE BASE/CLEAR BECAUSE I THINK ITS EASIEST HANDS DOWN. BUT NO MATTER WHAT YOU HAVE TO GET A SMOOTH PRIMER SO IF YA GOT RUNS IN THE PRIMER HAVE FUN FIXING THEM BECAUSE THEY WILL SHOW UP WHEN YOU ARE BUFFING. iTS EASY BUT BE CAREFULL IF UR BEGINNING AT THE PAINTIN.
