i have finally finished the project of installing a gas tank to the frame of my 66CC out of a 85 Bronko, only took me a week.LOL my question is this. i know my guage works in the cab as the original tank reads correctly but the one from the Bronko does not. i tested the sender on the Bronko tank before i put the box back on so i am assuming that it works unless i did some thing while installing it. which is very possible. my question is has any of the guru's that have done the change ran into the problem of the guage not workin. i might add here that the guage does work to a certain degree as it does move but is not accurate as to the amount of gas that i put in the tank. if so what did you do to fix the problem. Dutch
i did replace the float on the sending unit before i reinstalled it as the one that was in there had a hole in it. i wish now that i would have tested it in the tank before i set it all back together, i suppose i'll prolly end up replacing the sender with a new one. sure dont feel like takin it apart again.
i just replaced the sending unit for my truck. and i hooked up the two wires that go to it on the tank. where are those two wires supposed to go on the truck. what cnnections are in the actual gas gauge itself.
my gauge does not work and i would like to know which wires go where so i can make sure it is hooked up and done properly
My body to frame ground was on the bottom pasanger side of the firewall, but never looked stock. it should be someplace near the battery.
as for the sending unit, is that ground going from the sending unit to the tank, or to the frame? if it's strapped to the tank and the tank isn't grounded to the frame, it may not be conducting very well.
