Peeling badges?

Problem with my 2005 F-250 - the "F250" badge on the tailgate is peeling. In 2005 (I think), FoMoCo switched from the individual letter nameplates to solid chrome rectangle with F250 in black. The black is all peeling off the tailgate badge; anyone hear of this? Oddly enough, only the tailgate nameplate has this issue, the fender badges are fine. Weird. Sounds like a trip to the dealer....

Yep, it is a VERY common problem. Just take it to the dealer and they will replace it for you free of charge.

I figured it was, just seemed too weird. Maybe ol' Ford squeezed the supplier a little too much on the price for that component

Maybe. I know there was a bad batch of them. The new ones seem to be holding up fine.

Some people go to great lengths to get rid of the black lettering on the badges with acetone...... Maybe you can sell them.....
