Quick Help, New Engine.
On the drive home from the mechanic after getting my new engine in, my truck started pinging/missing like heck. No CEL, but I don't expect it to go off anymore considering it didn't even notice the fact that I was missing the sparkplug until I had to climb a hill. Anyway, it pings/misses horribly under load. It was too late to take it back to the shop today. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on something I could try to look for myself before I drive it back to the shop tomorrow.

I wonder, since it's a new engine, was it properly tuned? Definitely take it back to the mechanic before you mess with it. It's his responsibility. No new engine should knock and ping like that, and you shouldn't have to go through the trouble of diagnosing and fixing the problem.
