Powerstroke in a bronco?

Ok, I have a 79 bronco with a bad 400. I have a good powerstroke engine sitting in the corner of my shop. Does anyone know if the bellhousings are the same? How about finding a flexplate to mate up to the c6 torque converter? Will a c6 handle this kind of torque?
I don't know if it's possible but it sure would be fun.

the ps weighs about 1000lbs, so will be a bit heavy, but it would be a kick azz combo with a 79 bronco. no, the trans will not work. the diesel trans will only fit the diesels. but there are diesel C6's out there, you just have to look for one. they were used up till 92-92 on the 7.3

Thanks for the info on the tranny. I'll keep you posted if this swap happens.

Grab the axle(s) from a donor HD truck as well. 79 model 400's can't be powerhouses, so I doubt the axle(s) is/are meant for a PSD to shoot torque through them.

the nice thing about the 79 bronco is that it already has a monobeam dana 44 front axle, so there is no messy conversion getting rid of the stupid ttb front.
