Hi guys, I have a 90 superduty 7.3IDI regular cab,& only get air out of the defrost. I think all hoses are ok. It doesnt matter where you put the ****, defrost, floor, vent, etc. it only comes out defrost. Thanks for any help.
How are your brakes?
If you really have to push down on the pedal I would say your vacuum pump is dead.
The heater defaults to defroster when there is no vacuum.
If the brakes are working good, then I would make a second guess that something has fallen into the defrost vent and is blocking the door from moving.
Thanks Dave, My brakes seem fine,& i have not checked vacuum lines, but i will 2morrow. I havent noticed any vacuum leak noise but, I guess that would be hard with engine running. As for as something in the vent I'll check that too. Thanks.
the hinge on the diverter door is a strip of metal tape & often breaks which then doesn't allow air flow to anywhere but the defroster, thats whats wrong with mine but i need to remove the dash to fix it so i'm waiting for a bit nicer weather.
