Two questions: First- I own two trucks, 1958 f-100 and a 1968 F-100. Both have engines that are blown. I want to put a inline six in each one. What year Ford inline six engines will fit in each truck. By fit, I mean, no modifications needed (mounts, bell housing, Tranny, etc.)? In other words, if I find a 1959 223 will that engine go in the 1968 with no problems?
Second question: where might I find a rebuildable six? We are plumb out of wrecking yards in our area that have anything left worth taking. Thank you.
The mounts are different in both, the later will use the 240/300 engine. I have an extra one of those in central NC. You can remove the space and use my email address below if you are interested. It is already crated.

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.
I am sure you know all about the I-6 engines (more than I) and such. But, from having owned trucks with the 300 cid engine and because of parts avilable etc., if I had a choice I would put the I-6 300 into the 1968. Even if it meant hassling with new engine mounts. It is a great long lasting engine choice and if you ever sold the truck, if I was buying it, I would consider the 300 a (+) selling point.
