I've been told that the knocking coming from my front end is that my sway bar links are shot. How hard is it to replace them? Do I just jack up the front end so that there is not any pressure on the tire? The dealer wanted 270 to do this...he also tried to tell me that my sway bar bushings were bad but I had just replaced those 4 months ago....so my confidence in their diagnosis is suspect.
Sway bar links are pretty easy. I would recommend using Energy Suspension links for replacements. Jack the front end up, loosen them, then replace. Shouldn't take too long to do...
The end links on my '00 were noisy too. But, I just tightened them and the knocking noise stopped!
Cobra's right. It's a simple job. If you have an impact gun, the job should take no more than 15 minutes. $270 seems like alot, although I haven't priced new ones.
