Oil Pump Pickup

I am currently building a 400 for my '78 F250 4x4. The engine is out of a '77 LTD so it was a front sump oil pan. I have a rear sump oil pan and oil pick-up for it. What i was wondering is where the oil pick-up is bolted the the #3 main, there is a stud that it goes over and is held on with a nut. Is there supposto be a lock washer along with the nut or should there be just a nut with threadlock?

I put the same thing on my engine and the nut that held the pickup on had a kind of serated edge on the bottom side to give it some grip...FF59

I don't think a lock washer and threadlock would hurt any, more security
