Bloody Lightsiders ......who cares about rivets or screws
Just put it back on and get on with the important stuff......more power, more brakes, more handling, more chrome and shinny paint
Mark
PS This has been a paid political add from the darkside
Bloody Modders..... it matters when the D.M.V. wont register a vehicle when they Believe that the V.I.N./DATA Plate has been tampered w/ because they see it's held on by Screws & don't wish to look for the Frame stamped V.I.N..
I've more power & it looks Factory, Will've more brakes, handling shortly & it Also will look Factory or will be N.O.S., don't care for Nasty Olde Chrome never have, the Rats & Ravens can have them to line their Nests w/, as I prefer Painted Accessories in contrasting White or Black to off-set my Shiny but slightly Weathered Paint job, just needs a coat of Wax.
351 W with 4V and lots of chrome - auto - disk/drum power brakes - tilt front end - AC and power windows - other than the rake of the truck and the wheels - it looks stock - I even left the exterior door handles on after going electric with the doors - which side am I?

Reason: spelling
DMV can say think or do whatever they wish. If I ever have grief, I go straight for the throat. It only matters how you affix the tag if you're going for the concours look. Concours quality, would have four screws, not rivets. For everything else, it does not matter. It is very easy to get a supervisor for the DMV to come down and get chewed on. It is also very easy to file a lawsuit against DMV, and most of the time (statistically) DMV loses. It is also very easy to contact a concours expert, and have that person testify in court. I went to DMV to check on how I would register a 1943 Ford M4A3 Sherman I almost bought, and the DMV rep said it was not possible. They said it needed tires. I pulled the ORS book they had, and shoved it in their faces to prove that a Sherman tank is street legal. DMV doesn't know everything, you probably have forgotten more about 53-56 Ford trucks than the DMV rep will ever know. Also, we're all here to help you slap DMV in the face (we gotya back man)
Actually the trick is to get this stuff ironed out whiole the truck si still a rusting hulk. They don't seem to care diddly about titling a $100.00 parts truck at least not here in the Republic of Texas.

You are a Darksider. The power discs/drums are a sure give away. Stockers prefer the excitement of trying to pull off an emergency stop on four wore out or overcut drums.
Put the tags back on with Graytape--I don't care. Frankly I debated on whether or not to even put them back on.
Took my title and last registeration reciept from 1982 to the Texas DMV and it only took em 2 days to re-enter it into the computer. Don't know why they dropped it ...it was only parked for 24 years... Got new plates and one of the ugliest windsield stickers ever designed. But it's legal. BTW my truck was built in Dallas and the plate is screwed on to the ???uh whatever that door thingy where the modern day glove box is.(Looks like it came off the line that way)
