Waiting on my Centech Harness
The K40F kit is the part number and is a custom Ford harness. Once on the phone with them, all I had to tell them was what year (77), long bed, regular cab, MSD ignition, Type C steering column connector, and yes that I wanted the optional harness for winshield wipers and the factory plug for the washer pump. The guy said that the washer pump connector is getting to be like gold, and they may not be able to offer it too much longer.
The basic kit comes with an ignition switch, wiper switch, headlight switch, and floor mounted dimmer switch. Since my old dimmer switch works, I may use it as an ignition lockout switch hidden somewhere, we'll see.
They show a 2 week turn around, and I should expect to be contacted in a week or so to finalize the layout and it will be build and sent right out.
If all goes well, it will be waiting for me when I get home from this hitch offshore.
I'll take pictures of the swapout and let everyone know how well it goes.
Total cost is right undr $450. The painless kit was $599.
Thanks for the suggestion to those who turned me onto Centech.
Looking forward to your pictures and hearing about the quality of the harness.
Go to Centechwire.com, or give them a call. Avoid the Painless kit like the plague. I did try to order one of the first ones, but I think they were rushing it to market and trying to engineer it as they built it.

That was me

and You're Welcome

I had heard on a few occasions they were great to deal with and the quailty of the product was way above the Painful system.
You can thank FTE for having this forum available to people to allow for the sharing of Info like this

The Gauge Cluster is an 18 pin connection.
The Idiot Light cluster is a 14 pin connection.
Major difference for something very important to know.
