transmission troubles

Alright guys. a buddy of mine is lookin to buy a truck. its a 99 f-1, 4.6 auto. its got about 75,000 on it. they said it has some tranny problems. it doent shift sometimes. it takes a while to shift. it just runs at the high rpm. i dunno, if i hear some more symptoms ill let ya know. if u have any insight let me know.

p.s. thats why i stick with my 5speed.

Fluid Change

My 98 4.6 did that a couple times around 60,000 and 100,000 miles.
A filter and full fluid (12 quarts) change fixed it. It has not come back since.
