Question 460 rough accelaration?

I have a 1996 1-ton E350/7.5L, new Jasper, distributor, o2 sensor, high flow cat, K&N air filter.
When accelerating; light is OK, moderate to hard is a "miss" or not smooth feeling, and cruising is good. Seems like a poor ignition advance or fuel delivery(?).
Runs this way before and after the new Jasper.
Is this a common problem for pre-OBDII?
Could this be the issue?; "Check your coolant temp sensor. If it is not reading the correct temp, your pcm will compensate by running rich, or lean. Had it happen to me, and a $35 part fixed it all. Also probably want to flush radiator if sensor is bad. Good luck."
Thanks in advance for any help.
God Bless.
Jay

It doesn't sound like its running too rich. That problem is usually worse at light throttle and cruise.

A '96 should be OBD2. If it hasn't set a code then use a scanner to monitor data. You can check things like coolant temp, O2 voltage, injector pulse, ignition timing, TPS output, map sensor output, most everything.

My first thought is; if it runs normally at light accel and at cruise, but not under heavy acceleration, then its likely a fuel delivery issue. Stopped up fuel filter or a bad pump. Could also be a fuel pressure regulator problem. And since it has a new motor, a fuel line could have gotten pinched or crimped.
