The most patriotic thing published about our country in the last 20 years is the script from a beer commercial.
How can there be anything wrong with a country like this?

i'll vouch for the canadian flag on people's backpacks when traveling, they are the only one's it seems in the world that do it so much, kind of annoying for some reason, not to me but to ALOT of people. i truly think over half of them with it are americans to stupid to blend in to the crowd or have some wierd notion that being american will get them killed. yea, the annoying one's with the canadian flag ARE americans!!!! why do they have to be so loud and obnoxious everywhere they go??

But BF, It is true.

Canadians are respected all over the world, especially in Britain and Europe.

There have been cases were American's have donned Canadian Flags on their backpacks to avoid being chastised by the British as they are less Welcome than Canadians.

This is not a made up situation.

I was in Barcelona Spain in 1992 for the Paralympics. I was a competitive swimmer on the Canadian Team. On several occasions I wandered through the city wearing my Canadian uniform, it's all I was allowed to wear, and people would come from all over to say Hi, get an autograph or just touch my uniform. I'm no hero or superstar, I was 12th overall and set a Canadian Record, but it's amazing the attention I got. All the while Americans could wander the streets in almost anonanimity(sp).

sorry! that was just my little rant! but the backpack thing reminded me so much about it. the canadians are cool, heck, i would love to live there except i despise cold weather.

i have lived in 3 countries and visited 35 or so, and you can always spot an american, the way they dress(must be standard traveling uniform thing) and they are always LOUD, like they need evryone in the world to know they are foriegn. and when they put the little canandian flags on there backpacks, it drives me crazy, i understand canadians doing it, but why the heck an american? for safety? don't worry, americans aren't fooling no one! besides, i NEVER had 1 incident the entire time i have traveled, with a foriegner that is, but have had only 2 probs, both with an american!!!! ok, my rant is done. thank you!

oh yea, cowboy penner, canadian record is way cool!!! i swim a bunch but not competivly at all, the breast stroke always kills me!
