Motor swap question??
I have an 86 4wd shortbed with a 302 W/EFI and a creeper 4spd tranny. A friend of mine has a 302 HO out of an 89 Lincoln sport coupe that has a newly rebuilt auto trans attached to it. I can get the motor cheap but need to know if my computer will work with it or any other problems I may run into. I am keeping my creeper tranny dont like auto's with 4wd.

If the 302 HO has the Mass air Fuel injection then your computer wouldn't work with it unless you change the whole intake manifold and all your sensors from the other engine then it would work but i think the HO has a different firing order you would have to check that

yeah the HO's is different. just switch the 3 with the 5, and 7 with the 4. i just did that swap on the exact same truck. my 86 is exactley like yours, 4x4, swb, 302, granny 4 speed, single cab. i am still trying to get the engine running right. i used my intake and all my sensors, but i am having other problems. it is a good swap, but you have to know what you are doing. i think my problem might be a loose or unconected sensor.
