I am new to the forum and to Ford Trucks. So a couple of simplistic questions. If the 03 SuperCrew I am buying has FX4 package, what all does this include? Particularly as to axles, etc/ Secondly, how can I determine about the towing package it has? It does have the frame attached hitch and both 7 and 4 wire harnesses.
This is a cool accessory to add to any truck. We have a new patented product called the Hitch Safe Key Vault that fits into most 2 inch receiver hitches. This allows you to store a spare key inside the receiver hitch that can only be accessed using your own personal 4 digit code. You will never be locked out of your truck again. We have complete videos on our web site showing how it works and how to set the combination. We currently have a promotion on our site giving one away for free. All you need to do is visit our site and register to be qualified for the give away.
You can check the driver's door edge for the factory sticker and see what the diff gearing is. As for the tow....if it has the factory 7 pin and 4 pin, and the receiver under the bumper, then you have the main part of the tow package. Also check for a tranny cooler. If so..then it is the full package. The 7 pin also allows for trailer brakes, 12v supply to charge a trailer battery and backup lights. BUT...(there is always a catch), you will probably need to add the relays/fuses to the main battery junction box under the hood. They look like fuses but are relays and cost about $4 or higher depending on where you get them. Should you decide to pull a trailer with electric brakes, you can also activate those with a relay/fuse but you will also need to purchase a brake controller. This is the easy part though. You can get just about any aftermarket controller, then go to your dealer and for about $12, get a harness for the brake controller. This will be a manual wiring connection to the brake controller but the other end plugs right into a factory harness under the dash so it goes through the factory harness to the back. Nice setup so you don't have to modify the factory wiring.
