tires

Hey i have a 91 f-150 with a ford 8.8. I already have a 3" body lift and i am thinking about putting a 6" suspension lift. What is the largest size tire i could put on my truck with the stock axles and still be alright.

From what I have seen people say, anything over 35s is pushing the limits for the 8.8 axle etc. You might be able to go slightly larger. I would think that 38s would definitley be pushing it though. Don't quote me on this.

35"s are gonna be pushing it with the TTB. If it is 2wd then it might be ok, but I would steer clear of big tires on the TTB. Spend your money on a solid axle swap and then lift it for bigger tires. My last truck (90 F150 4x4) has nasty steering issues with a 6" lift when going fast offroad. The 8.8 seemed to hold up good with the 36"x15.5 tires, but the front end was crappy. Also, anything over 33"s and your brakes are gonna suck.

I had 35 12.5 on my 88 with only 4 in the front and 2 in the rear suspention lift i think with 9 in total you should be able to get at least 38's and 44's would proble rub unless you cut the fender wells

Take pictures if you put 44 on a 8.8 and TTB I wanna see the distruction haha but No larger then 38's and thats on the road and LIGHT off road. You can do 35 comfortably on and off but you are going to have problems with the TTB

would 37X13 be too much tire? It's not a daily driver anymore just off-road in it occasionally. Also what gears would you recommend and where can you get a decently priced set at?

37's you can probly get away with but as everyone has pointed out you will have problems with the ttb you'll be wearing out bearing's your tires won't stay aligned. As for gears 4.10's would work or you might have to go with 4.56's.JMO go with 4.10's and 33's with just a what you have already on your truck. or just go with a 4 inch lift.
