Question How about some NEW NEWS on the 6.4??

My local Dealer in Castle Rock told me that the new SD style is 'based' on the Tonka concept vehicle. He told me to not get excited about an '06, the new trucks are just 'around the corner'.
Any confirmation (other than the already published spy photos with the vinyl covering the sheet metal?)

Remember, dealers know as much about it as we do. normally they're trying to get you interested so you're wanting to go buy one.

We'll know when it comes out, or Ford releases some official images or a production model.

One thing is the 2007 order guides are out for the Super Duty. No changes except for some options on the Lariat trim level. This means the new diesel will have to be at least a 2008 model year. The earliest a 2008 can come out is January 2, 2007.

Dealers know LESS than we do. My dealer friend does not even know that there was a new SD coming. He said that in 05 Ford advertised the F250 as having over a 1000 new parts and hence it was the new truck....

Correct sir. Back in 2000, I had to show my dealer a picture of the X in Car & Driver. He was incredibly surprised. He had "heard" from Ford that the X was going to be a stretched Expy.

Telling a salesman a "secret" is like handing a baby a loaded gun.

I saw a truck in a Toby Keith video...What is that? It looks like no other ford truck I have seen before. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

That was the show Tonka from a couple of years ago. Not the 2007 (or 2008) SD.

I am shocked that the dealer said that. They obviously must be doing well if they are telling customers to not buy current stock and wait for the new models. Either that or that particular sales man is about to leave and work for Toyota...lol.

It is true that salesmen and dealers know **** about what the even have on the lot. I have never met one salesmen that knew more then me or even close. Salesman tried to tell me the 6.0 has an iron block and aluminum heads. I teased him and told him if upgrading the spark plugs is ok and he said he recommends it...lol.

You are right about most dealers and salesmen - fortunately we have two brilliant dealers here on FTE...

Not so. The first one came in to Heintzelman's Ford in Orlando this week in a mid size truck. (I think a 550 or 650). The serviced manager said so. It had the two stage turbo.

The 6.4 is NOT available for the F-250 or F-350 for the 2007 model year. It might be for the really heavy duty trucks but that doesn't do anyone else any good now does it?

Hey gatr, i think that yu're thinking of the LCF truck from ford with the 4.5 v6 twin turbo based off the 6.0 (just two cylinders chopped off..). Its been out for a year or so now and seems to be doing pretty good from what i hear on here.
