Talking stock heads

I've read allot of past post but I'm cofused on the valvetrain issue. What do you do when switching to a cam with more duration (more duration bigger cam) as far as adjustment goes. Do you have to switch to adj. rockers, mess around with adj. pushrods. Is there a cheap way of doing this? I'm not racing -it's just a toy , 1984 460

Lot's of considerations but, if you use hydraulic lifters/new cam all the stock parts should work just fine. I should say that's if you are at least moderate with the size of the cam.

Look in an aftermarket book with comp cams. The 270 cam is the bigges cam that can be run with stock valvetrain and no stall converter. It has a rough idle and builds power to like 6K.Its the lift that is hard on stuff and requires modifications not duration.
