Mike
P.S. Can you also tell me what the spline count on it would be and the gear ratio? Its coming out of a 79 Ford F-150

Nope. The truck housing is too wide overall, the shock setup is different between the two, and the spring perches won't line up with the Mustang springs. The u-joint is probably different, also. You might try finding another nine incher in a Fairlane, mabye?

Either 28 or 31 spline. Anywhere from 2.75 to 3.73. But I'm just guessing.

I figured the gear ratio would be somewhere in that area I was thinkin 3.50. Is there any way to figure that out? Im pulling the axles tomorrow so ill just count the splines.
Thanks again,
Mike

there should be a tag on the axle to tell you the gear ratio unless its been swapped.
67 mustangs use an 8" rear end.
MOST likely yours is a 28 spline.
but it could be 31.
