When I go to www.motorcraft.com and enter the SPARK PLUG spec on my truck -(2000 F250SD V10 6.8L), it lists 10 off AWSF22E and/or 3 off AGSF22WMF4. Which do I need????

That HAS to be a catalog error. I've never popped the hood on a v10 but that makes no sense.
OK, so accepting that the F4 bit is the code for 4 pack. What is the diffeferance between a AWSF22E and a AGSF22WM plug?

Maybe there's an 8.8L V13? (Which is a 9.5L V14 with one plug blown out?)
The AGSF22W is the newer specification plug, which was changed for the 2001 model year.

Pull a plug and get the same thats in there or check your owners manual. Or dealer for number.

ExploreEven though the motorcraft site list both for my model year (2000), do I need the older design or can I go with the newer?
The existing plugs are bosch!

I believe the AGSF22WMF4 is the suppressor type spark plug. Both are platinum. Don't forget to change the coil wires as well. It is a good idea to change these when you do the plugs.
After a little searching I found this post https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/a...0spark%20plugs on exactly the same issue.
For the record, the useful quote from 1toptech says :
Most AWSF plugs have been replaced by AGSF. The difference is that AGSF plugs are threaded all the way, and therfore can be used in either application. The 22 refers to the heat range. Since that is the same, they should be the correct plugs for your vehicle.
mmm.... longer threads.....might solve a plug blow out problem..... is Ford admitting something here?

The 2000 SD manual says AWSF-22E. The differences between the two that you can see are that the AGSF-22W has a longer threaded portion that goes up to the tapered seat. There may be internal and material differences too. Your 2000 was designed to use the AWSF-22E.

I believe it has to do with the "PI" or newer designed V10 heads. So to cut costs...FORD suggests it is ok to use on the older style heads too.Originally Posted by Musicman250

The spark plug may have longer threads but if the head doesn't, it won't do you any good. Unless inserting AGSF-22W's will make the head grow additional threads. You may also try root stimulator, in liquid form, along with a good potting soil...
