"New" Bronco

Any of you heard that the concept Bronco from a couple of years ago may be going into production? This inquiring mind wants to know...

I was just thinking about that thing the other day. Hopefully they build it. But make it more like a jeep affordable instead of a Land Cruiser.

Yes they are sweet, but I heard they are only putting a 2.9L in them?

i heard there was a group at ford that wants to build a new small bronco as a true off road vehicle. not the escape chasis like the show truck. we can only hope this is true.

Ya i've seen pics of it, that's why i was saying i hope they build it. And if they do they build it in hopes of going after jeepers not Land Cruiser types.

That concept bronco sucks, it looks good, but a front wheel drive bronco, give me a break. They need to keep the bronco true to it's heritage, and like you say, go after the wrangler, Ford can't be that clueless, I think they were pulling the wool over somebodies eyes. I also heard it was a go, and I bet it will be a true 4x4 when it does. Ford needs another yuppie suv, like it needs another hole in Bills head ha ha. The diesel in the concept is a great idea, that could stay, and give us a real offroad plateform to go wth it, and all Gods people said, "A-MEN"

the concept bronco, is a sheep in wolfs clothing. the concept looks good, but was built on the chasis on the escape. basically a truck on a cars chasis. wendell is right this is the last thing ford needs to build. hopefully ford will figure out there are too many tall cars on the road today and actually build one off road vehicle.
this is the quote that i got off of offroadrangers.com. "The Hurricane engine program has been back on track for about 3 months now and the Bronco is being pushed by a very influential group of Ford employees, we'll see what happens (and no, it won't be based on the Escape like the concept)." desertspive - ORR.

lets go ford, build us a small off road vehicle that will compete with and outsell jeep. we want single live axles, lockers front and back, room for tall tires, with lots of suspension travel. diesel is good but i would rather have a small block v8 with gobs of low end torque.

Yeah', IT SHOULD HAVE A TURBO DIESEL 4 CYLINDER, OR A 4.0 SOHC, AND A V-8 OPTION, A 6 SPEED MANUAL, AND ELECTRO LOCKERS, THAT WOULD BE SWEET!!!!

exactly!!!! give a true small off road vehicle with a hard top that comes off and an engine with gobs of low end torque. Jeep has done it for years.
