Last month I noticed exhaust coming out from everywhere under the bed of my '94, Mmm that Dynomax system isn't that old so I got under and scoped out the situation, it was just about gone! The 2 pipes exiting the rear of the muffler weren't connected to anything and were just swinging in the breeze and the rest of the muffler and hanger were swiss cheese.
Yesterday at lunch I ordered a Flowmaster 17135 Force II kit from Jegs, 21 hours later it was at the house...on a Saturday! Thats service! The Kit had great instructions and the hangers and clamps were great quality and the tubing felt much thicker than the Dynomax set up, and the big block muffler 3" inlet & outlet weighs a ton. The Force II is a single side system and at highway speeds is very unobtrusive but when getting into the throttle really has a healthy sound to it. One other thing that I noticed was the temperature of the tailpipe at the exit was hotter than any other system I've used ...on anything, they say it gets the heat out from under the hood. Well put together system if you want performance without "blattt" and won't dirty up a trailer since it exits on the side instead of the rear bumper.
the dynomax system i got was exactly what i wanted and paid for i have the factory exhaust manifold then cut and flanged the 2 1/2 to fit a 3'' y pipe into a high flow cat then a dynomax 3" inlet and dual 2 1/2 outlet with side exit both on passenger side infront of the rear tire it is about 2 years old and no leaks yet not to say that one is any better then the other each is dependant on how much mods have been done to the motor if your rock'n stock or have a 500 HP big block
Thanks for making sense of the rear exit verses side exit. i was planning a dual rear exit next year. I do pull a camper and car trailer for my Mustang. I will be using a side exit system now. I do like some noise so a Flowmaster will most likely get the call.
