I just won nearly 800 bucks last night at a casion play Texas Hold'em. That got me thinking, is this a game where skill can ensure a long term income? Or did I just got lucky? A previous time I won 200 bucks.
What other casino games are good for making money? And what casino games in your opinion are "rip offs"?
I am not a gambler, but those vlts IMO are a rip off. There is some people that say they know the machines and can always get them to pay out, but I think they are a rip off!
Blackjack, it has a history, but you have to know how to count, and not get caught
And what casino games in your opinion are "rip offs"?
Anything else
you could make some good money if youre good at poker, but I prefer local freindly tourneys, but I do have a good freind who is currently making a living playing poker online.
It's not something you should count on or sink money into. Do it as a hobby when you have free time, but make sure you never get to the point where you're talking yourself into sinking just a little more into. Gambling is just that. You gamble. You don't know what's going to happen.
I play Hold 'em with friends and limit games at casinos in Louisiana. I've done all right in the limit games, have yet to lose money actually, but I have no delusions of grandeur. The higher the stakes go the better the players are, the sharks come out of the wood work. Hell, you're an adult so do whatever you want, but IMO it's no way to try to make a living.
PS - 3 weeks ago my friends kept trying to get me to go the blackjack tables with them, I only pay poker. At the end of the night two of them lost $800 each, one lost $400+ and the other two dropped close to $200 each. And they still don't understand why I don't play blackjack...
Love to play Five Card Draw nickle dime quarter over whiskey with pals. Never spend more than a night at the movies but always have more fun. Lately a few nights of No Limit for modest stakes - fun but not a career path 4 me 4 sure. I nearly always come out a little ahead playing draw but 0-3 in hold 'em so far.
I would focus on a good marketable skill based career and work this poker thing on the side. Who knows, maybe you're gifted - the best poker player ever, or just real good.
I was born and raised in Reno and used to play Texas Hold em'. I used to watch some of the big names play at the Casinos where they filmed for the World Poker Tour. I would say that skill is 50%, reading the other players is 30% and luck is 20%. They can tell if you have a specific card and read your reactions really quickly. Playing poker is not a "career" I'd want to get into because it got me into trouble more than once, (broke and angry).
Played poker once for money, was up maybe $100, then lost it all. But I play for fun once in a while.
Blackjack, maybe once in a while. Usually look for the $5 tables, end up at the $10 tables. Once was up about 150 I think, started with 20. But that's not my game.
You wanna talk about a fun game, try Craps. The first time I tried it was on my father in laws advice. Bet on the Don't. It took me about half an hour, but I turned $20 into $120. Then, in Vegas I was "enlightened" to playing the numbers. 20 into 120 in half the time. And even though the following is a bad bet, a 5 dollar "yo" pays 75 bucks if it hits.
I play, mainly online (casino is too far away) and with friends. A bar here puts on a game every Wednesday, which is fun and all, but no prizes. I've never gotten real carried away though.
There aren't any sure fire casino games to make money on. Roulette would be the closest, playing Red or Black (50/50 odds). Other than that, nothin. BJ's too much luck for me. First time I played, I won about 225. Haven't won since.
Yeah, Roulette is another game I like. I don't pick numbers so much anymore, I just pick red or black, and occasionally the zeroes when I think they're due.
I play with my family when I see them. My biggest gain in a day of playing is about $75....not bad considering that there is only 5-6 of us playing. We play everything from Hold'em, 5-7 card Stud, baseball, Dr Pepper, Pitch, blackjack, 31, 5 card draw, ect...
I don't play. I played a game for fun with my brother and my nephew and I cleaned up. My brother explained the rules and some strategy but I couldn't keep it locked up between my ears so I just threw down cards, called for cards, bet, raised the bet....whenever I felt like it and I cleaned up!!!!
3 card poker. I could play all night. craps is a blast as well. Playing for fun is the only way to go, though. Wouldn't want the pressure of trying to make a living out of it.
