my 01 f-150 4.6 transmission tends to "keep running?" when i stop. This happens usually on abrupt stops. i dont know how to explain this but im sure someone out there knows what i mean. Maybe it is the engine ,i dont know.truck has 112000 miles and tranny fluid has been changed maybe once by previous owner back at 30000 miles.Fluid is at proper leval and does not smell burnt .Should i get a tranny flush or get it serviced ?,which i would dread because of the stories you hear about untrustworthy tranny places.Thanks for any replies. i don't know what you mean by keeps running? do you mean it feels locked up? if you mean locked up it could be the convertor clutch is bad .
in either case it's time to have it properly checked out by a good shop. check with your local BBB and ask about the rateings of those local to you.
