Filter?

After dropping the pan on my 03 automatic trans, is there a filter to replace or just a screen that you clean?

There is a big black filter towards the front of the transmission.

It is plastic and kinda snaps in place, there should be a orangish oring on the one end of it as well.

Yep - what the other guys said - AND... watch out when you pull it off - there is tranny fluid stuck above the filter

Good point, tranny bath is no fun. Just keep the pan underneath to catch the fluid, then set the filter in the pan. Have fun!
