I'm looking into lifting my truck, which is a 90 F350 crew cab, but the biggest I can find is a 6" lift. I'd really like to go 8", does anyone know where I can get a lift kit for that height?
I'm not sure about a 1 ton, but I have seen 8 inch lifts for half tons. A 6 inch lift on your truck would probably be about as tall as an 8 inch lift on a half ton though. Seeing as how it already sits higher to begin with. Check 4WheelParts for one. Or here is a list of some lift companies they sell. Superlift, Rancho, Fabtech, Sky Jacker, Pro Comp, Genuine Suspension. Also, JCWhitney has Tuff Counrty. Just because it is not listed doesn't mean they don't have it. You may have to call and ask. You could also try looking at each companies website.
Obviously you did not read my previous post completely!!! Try some reading glasses!
I never said a 6 inch lift was the same thing as a 8 inch lift. All I said was that for the height he wants his truck to sit a 6 inch lift may be big enough since the truck being a one ton already sits higher than a half ton. Am I the only one that has noticed that most F250 and F350 4x4s sit higher than F150 4x4 trucks from the factory. My friend has a 96 F250 with a 4 inch lift and it towers over his previous 94 F150 with a 6 inch lift. Both are 4WD.
You could build your own though. That is what I did, but on a much smaller scale. You could use different leaf spring packs, add a leafs, blocks etc. You will then need an acceptable pitman arm, shocks, extended brake lines etc, and of course larger tires. There may be a few other things. I haven't personally lifted a truck like yours. You could look and see what all is included in a lift kit to make sure you get all the stuff to build your own correctly.

I don't appreciate you calling me a f*g if that is what you are doing!
You don't agree that in the same year truck that a F250 and F350 4x4 have a higher factory ride height than a F150 4x4. That is what I was saying. To better explain what I was saying this is what is stated by most lift kit companies. On a 87-96 F150 a 4 inch lift clears 33 inch tires. On a 87-96 F250 a 4 inch lift clears 35 inch tires. Not all are the same however.
That's where I am leaving it. I hope the one who started this post got at least a little benefit from it. I am done with this!
hate to get intot he middle of ur two guys relationship but texas guy is correct i had a 90 f350 whith a 4 in lift and my buddy had the same year truck only a f250 and he had to raise his 6 in to get the same height and tire size as i could get with only a 4 in the 1 tons sit higher
Texas, I unerstood completly from the start,,EXACTLY what you were talking about...ex a 4in lift kit on 250, is about the same as a 6in lift on a 150...MAKES SENSE TO ME!!!!!!! By the way were abouts in the Lone Star State you from???
You do know that arguing on a closed topic is like special olympic participants? Both are retarded. 6" does not equal 8" no matter what ruler you use. So would you agree the Hover Dam looks like a canal blockoff? No. Apples and oranges. Only two things come from texas...........
Paubreadly... I live in central Texas. What about you?
Maybe this will put it in perspective for sprocket. A stock 87-96 4wd F150 can clear 31-32 inch tires easily, and some 32s and any 33s will rub. A stock 87-96 4wd F250 can clear 33s with no problem. I have actually seen 35s on a stock F350 4wd. There is no way a stock F150 4wd can clear 35s.
What sprocket seems to think is being said is that some lift kit company offers a 6 inch lift that is the same as some other companies 8 inch lift. That is not what we are saying.
All I am saying is that if said truck sits higher than another truck then it will take more lift for the other truck to reach the same height as said truck after it is lifted. So if said truck has a 4 inch lift then the other truck will need a 6 inch lift or better to be as tall or taller than said truck.
Sprocket... why do you insist on making such a big deal out of this topic?
Just what exactly are the two things that come from Texas?
This was a closed topic until other people started posting about it.
So a stock f250 sits 2" taller than a stock f150 of the same year.
So if you install a 6" lift on a f150 and a 4" lift on a f250 they should be equal in hieght
dah. Thats about as clear as you can get.
Dude, I love to **** people off. I'm just a jerk. Thanks for feeding the blaze. I knew what you were talking about all along. Different trucks ARE different sizes. We all know that.
