Which engine?
I have a 1978 f150 custom 4x4, with a 351m. Which engine do you think i should put in my truck when my 351 dies. 300,400,460, or other, if other then please post which engine you think.

Since you have the bolt pattern I would go with either a 460 or one of the early 400 engines.I swapped a 1972 400 into my 78 F250 4X4 Extended Cab that is still going strong at 226,000 miles.Yes it's close to that time to freshen it up a little but it will still pull a mountain of logs up over the hill for me but nothing lasts forever and seems to run circles around the 400m that came in my truck.Another great engine was the 351 windsor.You really can't go wrong with either but you would have to swap alot more to fit in the 351W.
