Whenever I push the brakes on my 79 f150 they either come back up very slowly or dont come back up at all, what could be a few reasons this would be doing this? Thank you for reading this subject.
If you're brakes work fine other than this, I'd check the return spring at the top of the pedal. It should connect back to a bar about 1' up from the pedal. If your brakes go down too far, or are soft, I'd check the mast cyl.

I wasn't aware of any "external" return spring on the ppedal...certainly not on the older ones. A dry MC is right on the mark, but it also could be that the brake shoe return springs are not doing their part, or that one or more of the wheel cylinders is seized up. Sounds like you should start from scratch and check every aspect of the brake system. Your life and mine may depend on it. :-)
