Post Service

I just had my 06 cc in for the first service (oil change). All they did was changed the oil thats it. When I was driving home I noticed that it has way more power than it did. If they reflashed it wouldn't they put that on my invoice.

Don't get me wrong I love the power I have now but can't believe that it was from an oil change.

Can an oil change make this much difference?

3000 miles

If they reflashed it they should at least put it on the invoice. I would be ticked off if I lost power. Do they do this without telling you?

Yes the usually tell you but the tech is really suposed to put a sticker on the radiator suport saying it has new calibration.
In my case of reflashes(about 4 0r so times) they never did that.

Br forewarned, most people are unhappy after a reflash so if yours is running good start doing your own service and save the money.
Any time you bring your truck in for routine service they do a search on their computer to see if a newer calibration exist. If so then you get re-flashed.

That's not true. The only time a reflash is done is if there is an open recall or a repair that may necessitate a reflash.

In theory but IMO in real life some techs for whatever reason are flash happy and some are that way because they are hoping it might fix an issue with the truck.
More so with the 03 and 04's

I figured if they did it to get paid for warranty it would have been on invoice. When I took the truck in the service manager printed a paper that stated no recalls were shown for my truck.

I will do my own service from now on, I took it in because they gave me a special for the first oil change service.

I put about 200 miles since oil change and my lie o meter says I’m getting 14.1 mpg, before I was getting 15.8 mpg.

Oh well live and learn
