Thumbs up Dfuser installed WOW

I just wanted to say I just installed a STERIOD Power Module and I got to say WOW
this truck rocks ... I am not having any of the problems I was having with my EDGE unit. (I gota say edge has been working with me and been very helpful !)
but the Dfuser steriod that I bought from http://www.blackclouddiesel.com/Ford/ourfordstuff.htm
was about 150$ and I called bill @ dfuser for help on the install and they were very happy to help. and the install was pretty easy about 45 mins.
anyway I will get to the data
you can adjust it as you drive by turning a **** and on the lowest setting it feels great with stock boost , but on max setting I pegged my 35 lb boost gauge and ripped the tires loose !!! I turned it down right away as I did not want to break the truck. anyway for the money this has given me way more bang for the buck !!!

I am VERY HAPPY WITH THIS SO FAR.

Talking Wow !!!!!!!

it makes a bit of black smoke at take off, but not as much as the edge did.

i have the one **** ( was told by them that the 2 **** changes timing and some 03 have had problems.) i mounted the **** on my guage pod . and stuff the box behind dash ans zip tied it up
i really gota say it runs much better . than with my edge, but my edge unit has bugs in it and edge has been working very hard with me to fix that and i should have it back soon and hopefully it will be fixed. you can also stack this on the edge, but i will not do to the truck might not hold up to that kinda power.
anyway like i sayed pegged the boost guage and i had to turn it down !

as I don't like the fact(or maybe not fact) if ford is doing this to save money. BUT when my warranty runs out. I would rather have a slightly weaker motor, and have it last a long time than to have a strong one that only last alittle while , then have it up to me to fix it or spend the money to get it fixed !
if they need to drop a few HP to make it last then so be it.
I have mixed feelings about it

and i paid a lot of money for my edge, so if i use it or not , is not the point the point is i cant use it.
Temptation was too great, I see. I believe being honest with ourselves is the first step to recovery.

Talking yes it got me and no

good question and I am not sure. I have it turned down all the way(fuel oil pump running to hard?)

and yes I do use my edge for data stream , and if my truck was not running weaker after my last flash then I might not be doing this, by the way the fuel module is turned down as low as I can get it and that is were it feels slightly stronger than it was before with stock tune. I have it set so it wont go over 30 lbs boost, I think I was getting 29 before, but wont really know till I get my edge back from the last update.( to see if the edge data reads the same as the boost gauge i have now)

I have a 01-03 f350 PSD 6.0L truck
I have the EDGE evolution. the problems I am having and I have found one other person on this site with the same truck and same problems.
1) when I got it and I first put it in tow mode, it would bog down on take off and put out a LOT of black smoke. then once I got going it would run ok intill I would hammer down it would surge bad. kinda like it felt like it was running out of fuel. now in extreme mode it would run much better, but do the same thing. now talking with another person here they told me to try and disconnect the EGR and it did help allot, but still had some of the same stuff going on , but not as bad. so I had it in at the dealer getting my ac fixed and they flashed the truck, when I tried to upload my edge it would not and most of my data stream was gone. so I sent it back to edge for a update and it worked intill I once again went to the dealer(about 2 months later) this time for a oil leak, and the flashed it again , and once again it would not upload and I sent it back again for a update, this time all my data stream was gone and when I got it back it still said I needed to update the edge software.
so I called edge and told them the code that was on it and they said that they may have not flashed the edge right and that the code I gave them was a new one and they had never seen before so that meant that ford had a new flash and they would have to update it again and also told me that the last flash they put on there edge unit was giving other people data stream problems too, so they have it now and I should have it back soon, I am thinking this Monday. anyway when I get it back I hoping all is good. at this point I just want it back for the data stream and the transmission programming so the fuel module that I have now will work better with the transmission.
I think that covers it ?

Yea that covers it . Thanks for the Info
Hope every thing works out with the evolutions and the fuel module. Post the end resaults, i'm courious how it works for you.
I have the edge platinum w/attitude on my 03/03 with airaid intake and 4" exhaust from turbo back, and i'm thinking about installing the steriod fuel module. Need to do alittle more research.

my truck also has the air box/ stock size exhaust , but no cat & a walker truck muffler...I got to say the dfuser gave me a lot of power, matter of fact I have it on the lowest setting, because the boost goes to high and I don't feel I need more than 30 lbs and it will go a lot higher. it was a lot cheaper than a programmer too. anyway if you want power it worked for me, no bogging down like I had with the edge.no updates to worry about, etc I do like it. I am going to replace the **** ( variable resistor) with a clicking type that has like 4-6 setting so I can just set it on the one I like and don't have to worry about turning the **** by mistake ,etc check out the blackcloud web site or dfuser web site . lot of info there. anyway i will post the results of when i get my edge back and how it interfaced with the dfuser. one more reason i went with the dfuser , you have 15 days to return if you dont like it. so if you put it on and its not for you just send it back. after 15 days they will still take it but there is a 20% stocking fee

Perhaps Vic can answer this

I have a general question related to the Dfuser -- if a calibration like SCMT or Edge or SCT has a "max" power setting how does "stacking" something like the Dfuser make more power? My assumption is that the calibrator has already maximized the appropriate parameters for fuel delivery/timing and boost so how does "tricking" the various sensors make more power when stacked (if it indeed does that)?

It's the engineer in me that wants to know

Thanks.
