RCA lyra

just bough one of thses from walmart today......boy what a pain this thing is!!!!

Ok, the problem...I cant really add songs to it, it seems like it just gets worse and worse. When i first tryed it, it sorta worked, I was adding files to it by draging and droping. I got about 40 songs and and a message pops up saying

"this song is ethier being used by another program or is non existant"

sooo, i got to skip the song and surprise!! oh what a turn of events, same message for the next 5 songs...prolly was for the rest of them but i just exited out.

The screen on the mps player said "transferring" even though it exited out of the program i was downloading song to it from. So I un-plug the player, and try again. (it says to not un-plug it when that message is up., but nothing i did made the message go away)

NOW...when i try to plug it in, it just friggin freezes the danm program i use to put songs on it with

can someone please help me.....i am sooo pissed right now , mainly cuae this danm thing costed me 150 BUCKS!!!

This pos is headed right for walmarts, reject counter, ASAP if i cant fix this thing!!!! Be fore i blow the danm thing up and get no money back for it

I didn't have a problem with my Lyra, I got mine for free though at a golf tournament. I could download about 40 songs, and they played fine. Sounds like you stopped it in mid transfer, which like older USB pin drives, can lock it up, or loose all the memory. Then again, sometimes wal-marts stuff will be broke, so you may need to bring it back, and swap.

Still, I wouldn't pay 150 bucks for it.

How much did yours hold?....you say you downloaded aboub 40 songs? I think this ones full name is "lyra jukebox". Perheps its a bigger size, sence the one i am returning is 4 gigs.

Yep, tried to get it going and it finally started to work, but before anything could happen the thing reported an error message ( most likley from me pulling the cable out of it 10 times, while it was supposly "transferring", lol) Ill get the swap for the same one tommoro and see how the other one dose. Maybe ill just out swap for a cheaper, different brand one.

I can't remember what mine held as far as memory, but I could download about 40 songs, its not very big, about the size of a small pager. Like I said, I got mine for free, so I didn't do to much looking into it. It does take two double A batteries, and lasts a while. My wife uses it for jogging.

I didn't much care for mine either. I don't know why these companies have to take something so universal, like mp3's and make them proprietary in order for them to work on their devices. I copied songs to it ONCE and used it for a few months and it's been sitting in my console for a couple of years now. When will these companies learn that if something is a PITA to use, people aren't going to buy their junk again...

The only problem I have with IPods, is that if you have regular MP3's, then the IPod will relabel, and move everything around. Hate that.
