frame and engine ???

i was wondering if i could drop a 351W into 302 mounts, i have a 73 econoline 200 that has a bad 302, i have access to a rebuilt 351W which has been built up for 350$. i was askign to see how easy it would be to switch the engines,

and about the frames, i was think about takign the C-4(maybe c-6) out the the van and putting the 351W and the trans into my 63 f-100, and if they used the same frame, or similar enough frame, i was wondering how easily the mounts from the van would fit onto my truck frame.

is this worth a try?

would the van have a c-4 or c-6 with the stock 302?

C4 behind a 302.

Is yours the old bodystyle with the "intruder" engine box? I knew a fellow who put a 351 in one of those. He had issues with clearance for the exhaust manifolds on the sides, the oil filter, and that's about it. It can be done, but expect to have work to do on those if it's the older body.

As far as your '63, that is going to be different. In '63 I think the stock motor would have been a Y block. Maybe an FE. No small block Windsor motors. So, your mounts are probably not transferable without some mods.

However, I would bet mounts for a 351W into your '63 frame are available from the aftermarket. Google for them.....
