I have an 86' with 302 and AOD. I just did a rebuild and it runs great except for a high speed miss when under load and an occassional miss at idle.
I have installed new plugs, wires, dist cap, rotor and coil. Problem still present.
I did not replace the injectors during the rebuild. Might they be the problem?
you did install a new timing chain right. pull codes , replace fuel filter. what kinda plugs did you use? also make sure that #7 & 8 wires are not touching. may just have a plug wire arcing as well so pop the hood at night with the motor running.
Thanks, I used Bosch Plugs with Accel wires, cap, rotor and coil.
No codes when checked and a new timing chain was installed.
I will change the fuel filter and check to make sure nos. 7 & 8 are not touching.
what kinda bosch plugs. many have found that regular autolite or motorcraft copper plugs work the best on our rigs. no need to spend the money on the expensive stuff there.
