I have a 1978 ford f150 supercab, that has both cab floor boards rusted out (driver side, very bouncy, passenger side can see the road!)
Any advice for planning/getting this repair done?
I have found a couple of places to order replacement front floor panels.
Am I likely to need anything for the back of the cab floor?
They also have a part called a cab mount, and two prices, ~$22 a piece or ~$85 a piece. Are cab mounts useful, and am I likely to get a much better part for the higher part? Both of the parts are manufactured by the vendor.
I am a woman learning to keep an older truck on the road (it has a lawnmover set-up, and I love the ramp that drops to the ground for using a two wheel cart for loading things) so please use basic terms if possible!
Too Late,
(because I learned to like that sad looking old truck)
It all depends on how far the rust has gone ,as to if you need to replace the cab monts. The cab mounts are at the front left and right side of the floor pan foot area, respectively. You can usually see this area looking into the wheelwell area, below the firewall of the truck. Can you post any pictures of the rusted out area ?
