I was wondering if anyone can help me I am new to this site. When i drive my bronco on the left side of the driver side it makes a noise like a click click like something hitting on something but when i put me brake it stops can anyone help. Also is it better to get the k&n air intake or just the k&n filter the one that connects to both tubes of the orginal bronco i hope you can understand me.
Did you check the hitter on the door?, it´s the pin that holds the door tight shut (the one the lock grabs), it´s wrapped by a plastic shell, if the plastic breaks, only the metal part holds the door closed, and it will begin to make that noise, check that.
First off welcome to FTE and the Big Bronco Forum.
What part of the truck does the noise seem to be originating from? There are a LOT of things on that side of the truck that COULD be the problem. The striker post is just one of them.
The drop-in filter is by far the better choice. The aftermarket intake kits often draw more air in from UNDER the hood that from outside which is WORSE for your intake air temps than it was with the OEM intake plumbing. Check www.performanceunlimited.com They have an actual performance comparison posted that clearly shows the drop-in being the better choice. Its cheaper and it doesn't pull in hot under-hood air.
For those that will argue about the divider and such that supposedly isolates the replacement intake plumbing from the under-hood temps. Please don't bother. A little plastic and rubber isn't going to insulate against engine temps well enough to make a difference. If you really want to see an improvement, drop the K&N replacement filter in and then insulate the OEM airbox and intake plumbing against excess heat.
Well the noise is coming from the bottom of the bronco near the left tire. It started when i came back from the beach when i had to use the 4*4 to get out of the sand. Since then it just started when i drive like 25-40 it makes the noise then when i go faster is stops.
automatic I am new to all this so hopefully you all dont get annoyed by me and my questions.
Not at all. That's why we are here. You may want to check the red link in my signature for some of the more common issues that you may face. The automatic hubs are highly unreliable and (even though you may know this) you MUST back up about 10-15 feet once the T-case is out of 4WD to fully disengage them. Try engaging 4HI again for a bit then disengage it and back up. What you are describing honestly sounds like a sticky automatic hub. If the problem persists, you can remove it, clean the crud from it and LIGHTLY grease it. Too much grease will cause the same problem to rear its ugly head again. If you wander around this forum a bit you will soon find that most of us would just as soon toss the autos out the window and swap to manual versions, yes it means getting out and locking/unlocking them but its far better peace of mind knowing that they will WORK PROPERLY.
It sounds to me that it is just your brake pads clicking and rattling against the rotor. If your rotors are just slightly warped it can do it. There is a clip that goes behind the pad that is supposed to help that problem. Mine does it sometimes, it is just more irritating than a problem.
Jack up your front and pull off your front tire and examine the brakes. Most likely you will find the problem. Spin the rotor and see if you can duplicate the noise.
kameronth if i have not cut the rotors and if the problem gets worse that noise can occur. Also will it become a problem like wear down my brake pads a lot faster ,
Yeah I drive and i can let go the gas and it still makes the sound only when i step on the brakes is when it stops making that noise. But i am going to check to see if it is the brakes. THANKS
