Need help to identify tranny
I bought a 96 f150 xlt 2wd 300 inline 6 3speed automatic with o/d long bed.
I would like to replace the tranny fluid and gasket,filter it's leaking around the gasket .I cant tell wether it's a c6 c4 c5 or any other style. Haynes book dosen't give details as usual, local auto parts store said it was a c6 with the specs i gave above .Can any one tell me how to check on my own.

Thank you for your response i cant remember what shape it is ill check. I went to bed last night and got off from work late today or i would have replied sooner. Auto zone told me to count the bolt holes and then looked it up on thier comp. and said it was a c6 . I bought the truck 3 weeks ago so i don't really no much about it. Other than it runs good shifts good drives good.
I have put a new radiator, water pump , thermostat, 4shocks, hoses , belt ,oil change
its kind of addicting by what else can i do.I love this truck i bought it for 2200$ and probably have put 500$ in it . Guys at work call me insane i just feel i picked up a hobby.
