Predator model ? and newest update

I called Diablo because I couldn't get my computer to link to my Predator, turns out ds downloader doesn't work with Win98. The tech guy said that there is a r12 that would work on my Predator with the (2005 6.0) sticker that is the new update to r10.

I used my wife's computer with win xp and found out that r10 and r12 are not compatible with my predator which is running power_6 so I updated to the r7_84. When did the Predator change and is mine the old version or the new version?

When the 2005 Powerstroke came out Ford doubled the amount of memory in the computer. That meant that current 6.0 Predators didn't have enough memory to program them. So there was an early model 6.0 Predator that programs only 2003 and 2004, and newer model that programs 2003-2006. When did you buy yours?

09-03-05 order #5496.

I did get revision 10 loaded. I had to update to r84 and install it to my truck, then uninstall it and update to r10. I couldn't update to r10 directly for some odd reason. My programer shows power_6 when it boots.

newest update

jbullfrog, how about an update? Which version do you run now? How do they compare? (r84,r10,r13) Just had the 05E15 recall done. I updated to r84 and it worked in the truck('05). Trying to decide if I should continue updating or not. Thanks. David.

I did it this spring, which in Iowa means changing from winter blend to summer fuel. Truck runs great. I have almost 80,000 on the ticker and she gets 16.5 mpg average per tank (total miles/gallons to fill). Average of 80 miles interstate and 20 miles of gravel, town, and farm driving. If I run highway at 55-60 I can average 18-19, but running the interstate at 70-75 or over it gets 16 overall. It's nice to know I can push down on the go pedal and pass almost anything. I just did my brakes for the first time a week ago. I use Tow/Haul for cruising around town in traffic and to decelerate on off ramps from the interstate, it makes a big difference in braking.
