The first thing I Would do is call an auto parts store and ask if the 302 is internaly balanced or externaly balanced. An easy way to tell is look at the flex plate that came of of it and see if there are any weights on it. I am almost positive that the 302 is externaly balanced and the the flywheel will not work from the 300. I tried it ounce on my 82. I fired it up and just shut it right back off. The whole truck shoke.

ran out of time

I wasn't finished on that last message, ran out of time. I priced a flywheel and found the cheapest place to be advanced auto at about 55 $ a pop with a core exchange. I would just give them the flywheel from the 300 They woun't know the diffrence . A junk yard would work also but you wouldn't get much better of a deal than just buying a new one.

Yes, they are externally balanced. 1981 was the year of the change in imbalance from 28oz. to 50oz. so your 302 should have the 50oz. imbalance. You should look for a flywheel from a mid-to-late '80s 302/5.0 with the same number of teeth that are on your current truck flywheel in order to use your existing bellhousing (probably 164 teeth, but coun't 'em to be sure.)

You could use your truck 300-6 flywheel if you had it rebalanced at a machine shop to the 50oz. imbalance factor.
